Norcan Games is an independent Canadian publisher based in Ottawa, Ontario. We create original, accessible tabletop and card games that combine strategy, storytelling, and fun. Our goal is simple — to bring people together through games that are easy to learn, quick to play, and full of memorable moments.
We handle every step of development from concept and design to art direction, manufacturing, and publishing. All of our games are locally produced in Canada, ensuring sustainable practices, premium quality, and a connection to the communities that inspire us.

Our Story
Rule the Roost was born from the creative collaboration of Jesse Martin and Ian Stecher, two university friends united by a lifelong love of strategy games. What began as a small design challenge quickly grew into a full-fledged passion project — one that demanded years of playtesting, late-night brainstorming, and countless iterations to strike the perfect balance between strategy, interaction, and fun.
The game’s distinctive visual style was brought to life by Evert Rosales de Martin, whose expressive artwork gives each animal character its own charm and personality. Together, we transformed a simple idea shared among friends into a vibrant, fast-paced card game that invites players everywhere to outwit, outvote, and ultimately Rule the Roost.
